I currently work as an Architectural Designer at a local downtown La Mesa architecture firm. I grew up in La Mesa for most of my life, going to La Mesa-Spring Valley schools for elementary and middle school (La Mesa Dale and Spring Valley Middle) before going to Steele Canyon Charter High School. After graduating high school, I moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts where I attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as the first student from Steele Canyon to get into MIT. I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Architecture with a focus on Building Technology where my undergraduate thesis was focused on rethinking the way we think about designing schools to better adapt for future technologies and learning styles.
After graduating from college, I began my career in the building industry as a Lighting Designer at an Architecture and Engineering firm in New York City, continuing at an Engineering firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. I moved back to San Diego County in 2018 where I have been involved as a mentor for the after school club ACE (Architecture, Construction and Engineering) at Helix High School. I was a math tutor for Sylvan Learning Center in La Mesa and have served on the La Mesa Planning Commission since May of 2021.
